My mother finally beside me after her most quiet and lonely year
At the top of the escalator at the ring centre
Message received
We separate at the bottom and wave goodbye at a teary distance

I come to you and we close the door to your little room for a while.
A kind of tired stillness that spreads in waves
Watching the Turkish wedding procession from the second-floor window the reed flutes and drums calling out aggressively and necessarily festive
Eye level to the wet trees yellow leaves shining
We are quieter desensitized versions of ourselves
We are tired and caring and the concrete of the wall softens sound and light
Cocooned
The memory of apple gently haunts you, the sour sweetness fading
Our dreams weave together and become harder to distinguish from waking and the journeys of riotous and troubled characters of films
Our own lucid dream to Tar with recorders and swizzle sticks, tempered glass and fretless bass, oversized resonant tuning forks
Deliveries of bitter lemon soda and peanut butter cups
Vertigo and the edges of claustrophobia
Delicate worried and sidelong glances at what the future forming beyond the confines might look like
With messy hair and big eyes
You taste ice cream again for the first time
And I admire your glow returning


We made this album over 20 days in a room together in September 2021. In a time when the world was a little quieter, and the days were blending together we made some gentle noises to colour in the dream memories and intimacy of caring and loving in isolation we didn’t want to forget
